MORO: Establishment of a spatial observation system for bordering regions (2018-2021)

The spatial observation system of the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development in the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBSR) for Germany and Europe is to be supplemented in the medium term with ongoing reporting on neighbouring regions abroad in accordance with the mandate of the Spatial Planning Act. While the previous model project of spatial planning (MORO) "Spatial Monitoring Germany and Bordering Regions" was still of a strongly exploratory character, this MORO project "Establishment of a Spatial Monitoring System for Bordering Regions" tackled the consolidation of cross-border spatial monitoring. The aim of this project was to define the methodological and technical basis for the creation of a permanent spatial observation system for border regions at federal level.
