Development of a GIS-based tool for land potential identification and suitability assessment (2019-2021)

We have developed the Land Finder to identify suitable potential for residential and commercial land. The Land Finder is a GIS-based tool that can be used to evaluate spatial geodata and geospecialist data in regions and municipalities and to output suitability values with regard to an intended land use. The geodata are usually fed in by the expert, and the suitability factors to be taken into account in the study area and the evaluation algorithm can be adapted to the user's specific needs. The area finder was developed together with Schulten Stadt- und Raumentwicklung, the GIS tool was programmed by S&W. Studies have already been successfully carried out with the area finder in various large and medium-sized cities in Germany.
