Small-scale population forecast in the districts of Hildburghausen and Sonneberg (2016)

S&W supported the districts of Sonneberg and Hildburghausen (Thuringia) in the development of a strategy to secure supply and mobility in rural areas by providing the necessary information bases on the expected demographic development. For this purpose, S&W carried out a population forecast 2015 to 2030 for the municipal level and applied the population distribution model for the spatial disaggregation of the forecast population structure data to the districts as well as to a 100x100 metre grid, which mapped the two districts area-wide.
